Atlas of Home Coming soon

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026.

This notice covers the website atlasofhome.com. Atlas of Home itself is an app for iPhone and iPad, and the app has its own Atlas of Home app privacy policy. If you want to know what happens to your family’s photos, recordings and letters, read that one: in short, they stay in your own iCloud and we never receive them.

For any privacy question, email hi@atlasofhome.com. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What this website collects

  • Server logs. Our host, SiteGround, records each request to the site: IP address, date and time, the page asked for, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. We use these to keep the site secure and working and to understand which pages are read. Logs are kept for up to 30 days.
  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, device and browser details and the pages you view. Google processes this for us as our processor. We do not use it for advertising and we do not combine it with anything else. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you choose Accept in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time under Cookie settings.
  • Email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can answer you.

The website has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no shop. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Why we use it, and the lawful basis

  • Security, fraud prevention and running the site: legitimate interest.
  • Understanding how the site is used: your consent for analytics cookies in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and legitimate interest elsewhere.
  • Answering your emails: legitimate interest.

Where it goes

Our host (SiteGround) and Google (Google Analytics) process data for us. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area; where it does, it relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict it. Email hi@atlasofhome.com and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory authority.

You can change your cookie choice at any time under Cookie settings, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.

Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top.
