Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 16 September 2026
Last Updated: 16 September 2026

Moonshot Media Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) makes Atlas of Home: Family Tree for iPhone and iPad (the “App”, or “Atlas”). This policy explains what Atlas does with your information. The short version: your family tree, photos, voice recordings, letters and everything else you add live in your own iCloud. We never see any of it.

Information we collect

We collect nothing. Atlas has no account with us, no sign up and no login. We operate no servers that receive your data, and the App contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs of any kind.

What the App stores, and where

Everything you add to your atlas, including names, dates, relationships, places, photos, voice and video recordings, transcripts, letters, recipes, songs, heirlooms, milestones, traditions and sayings, is stored on your device and in your own private iCloud database using Apple’s CloudKit. This is what lets your atlas survive reinstalling the App and appear on your other devices. Moonshot Media Limited has no access to this database, cannot read it and cannot recover it for you. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, the App keeps your atlas on your device only until you sign in.

Giving the atlas to your family

One person keeps an atlas. Nobody else signs in to it. When you want relatives to have it, you send them the Atlas Book PDF or the download of the whole atlas, by whatever means you choose. Those files are made on your device and we never receive them.

Please add other people’s photos, voices and stories with care and with their agreement, especially for children and for living relatives.

Sealed letters

A letter sealed until a date is hidden inside the App until that day. This is a promise the App keeps on every device, not encryption: the letter is stored in iCloud in the same way as everything else in your atlas.

Camera, microphone, photos and speech recognition

The App asks for the camera, microphone or photo library only at the moment you choose to take a photo, record a voice or video, or add a picture. Transcripts of recordings are made with Apple’s speech recognition on your device only; audio is never sent to a server for transcription.

Places and maps

When you search for a place, the text you type is sent to Apple Maps to find matching places, as with any app that uses Apple’s MapKit. The places you save stay in your atlas.

Notifications and widgets

Reminders for letters and family birthdays are scheduled on your device. Widgets read a small summary that the App writes on your device. Neither is sent to us.

Downloads and the Atlas Book

The Atlas Book PDF and the download of your whole atlas are created on your device and go only where you choose to send them.

Links to music

Song links open in the music app or web page you choose. Those services have their own privacy policies.

Purchases

Atlas Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the App only whether a purchase is active.

Children

Atlas is made for families and collects no information from anyone, including children. Information about children in an atlas is added by their family and stays in that family’s iCloud.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. You can export your atlas at any time from Settings. Deleting your atlas in the App removes it from your iCloud; deleting the App removes its local data from your device. To manage iCloud storage, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above.
