Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Effective Date: 16 September 2026
Last Updated: 16 September 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Atlas of Home: Family Tree for iPhone and iPad (the “App”, or “Atlas”), provided by Moonshot Media Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Ireland (CRO 813696). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What Atlas is

Atlas is a family tree that you build and keep for your family, with the family’s own photos, recordings, letters, recipes, places and memories. Atlas does not research your ancestry and does not generate facts about your family. Everything in an atlas is added by you.

2. Atlas Pro

You can explore the App and its sample family for free. Creating and editing your own atlas requires Atlas Pro, which is offered as:

  • Atlas Pro Monthly, an auto-renewing subscription billed every month, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers;
  • Atlas Pro Yearly, an auto-renewing subscription billed every year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers;
  • Atlas Pro Lifetime, a one-time purchase that does not renew.

Prices are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you do not cancel before it ends. A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in the Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions. A trial is available once per Apple Account. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.

3. One atlas, one keeper

An atlas is kept by one person, on that person’s own Apple Account and devices. Relatives do not join it. You can give them the Atlas Book and the download of the whole atlas at any time, including after Atlas Pro has ended: the atlas stays readable and exportable, and adding or editing is available again once Atlas Pro is active.

4. Your content

You own what you add to Atlas. You are responsible for it, and you confirm that you have the right to add it and the agreement of the people it concerns where that is needed, for example a relative’s photo, voice or story. Do not add anything unlawful or anything that infringes someone else’s rights. We never receive your content; it is stored in your own iCloud.

5. Sealed letters

A letter sealed until a date is hidden in the App until that day and cannot be changed after it is sealed. This is a promise the App keeps, not encryption, and it depends on the device’s date.

6. iCloud and your data

Atlas stores your data with Apple’s iCloud. Syncing between your devices needs an iCloud account with available storage and are subject to Apple’s terms. We cannot access or recover your data.

iCloud carries your atlas between your own devices; it is not a backup, and we do not keep a copy. Keeping a copy of your family’s memories is your responsibility. Atlas gives you everything in one file: in Settings, tap Download everything, and keep that file somewhere safe. We recommend taking a fresh copy whenever you have added something you would not want to lose, and above all after recording a voice, because a recording cannot be made again. If an iCloud account is lost, closed, emptied or runs out of storage, the atlas in it goes too, and neither Apple nor we can return it to you.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Atlas reliable but provide it “as is” and cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may update the App and these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. You may also rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
